LuLu Hall

LuLu was born on June 21, 2006. Her mother was Sissy, her daddy was Tiny, her brother was Chico and her sister was Angel. Shakey had named LuLu (don’t remember what it was) but we wanted to give her our name for her. She actually gave herself a name. Her first night was a lulu; hence her name became LuLu, L’il LuLu. We adopted LuLu from Phillip (Shakey) Reeves for $300. LuLu was 6 weeks old and weighed less than 1 lb. She slowly gained weight and her average weight was 7 lbs. LuLu had surgery on both legs to reset the tendons on her knee caps. This would prove to be what would give her a lot of pain as she grew older. The last year of her life, LuLu had pain in her neck, legs, hips and spine. She never gave up and always wanted to do things without help. She loved to go bye bye and go through the drive through at CVS and the tobacco store where they gave her treats. LuLu loved her Brenda and Jerry very much and they loved her, too. She protected them all the time. LuLu also loved her human sister and brothers and they loved her. LuLu loved to visit them, also. The culdesac she lived on was her terrain and she kept her eye on everything that went on and would alert us to anything going on by barking. She was an excellent guard dog. In the last few months of her life, LuLu lost down to 5 lbs, her stomach was unsettled and she had diarrhea a lot. She had stopped eating her treats and her specials and didn’t eat her food very well. I had started cooking chicken and giving that to her. On the last day/night of her life, LuLu was still herself. She laid on the pillows on the sofa, her favorite place to spend her evenings with brenda and Jerry. When it was time to go nite nite, Brenda helped her down and she walked to her “bedroom” (crate) and went into it and went to sleep. She didn’t wake up. :cry: Jerry got up first on that morning and she didn’t come out of her “bedroom” as usual. When he looked in on her, she didn’t move. Our hearts were absolutely broken! But LuLu protected Brenda and Jerry down to the end. LuLu didn’t go through a slow process of going down and therefore, Brenda and Jerry didn’t have to make the decision to have her put to sleep. She quietly went in her sleep and was so beautiful!! :heart: We could write volumes on how loyal LuLu was! She was so protective, so loyal and we all loved her so much and she loved us back!! She filled up our lives and our whole home with her sweet little self. She was the best “puff” we could have ever wanted and the perfect addition to our family! We love you always and forever, sweet girl, our L’il LuLu! :heart::heart:
