Rambo Haney

I have spent the last two days meticulously scrolling through all of my photos from my phone, facebook, messenger, texts, multiple cloud servers, and everywhere else I could think of to find pictures and videos of you. I want to be certain that I will never allow myself to forget all of the memories that you gave me. I wasn't able to be in your life from the start, but the last eight years that I did get to spend with you had such an amazing impact, not just for me, but so many people. Every trip we took, every time you got to "go to work" (oh, how excited you got when you heard those words...), every ride you went on, every walk we took, you were an ambassador for all German Shepherds. You taught a young girl that had been bitten by another large dog that she had nothing to be afraid of, you protected the kids from all perceived threats, you were a glue for our entire family through some of the roughest times, you provided comfort and distraction for numerous visitors at the shop, you provided comic relief at just the right moments, you apparently nominated yourself to be my "Urinary Support Dog" every time I went to the bathroom, you kept me sane every time something in my life went wrong, and you became my bestest friend. You absorbed all of the bad things around you and used it to produce nothing but good back into the lives of those around you. I would take ALL of the foot injuries i received from you when you got excited, ALL of the whimpering and barking, and ALL of the fur EVERYWHERE again if it would bring you back. But I can't. Life tends to be cruel that way. But, as much as it hurts to lose you, I wouldn't have changed anything. The current pain will never outweigh the love you gave me in the time we spent together. You will forever live in my heart. Every morning I left for work, I always gave you pets and told you, "Be good, buddy boy. I love you. I'll see you when I get home." Now, I just hope that I can be good enough to make it back to you and that you'll be there when I come home one more time. Goodbye, Rambo. I love you, buddy boy. I'll see you when I get home.
