Alice Bea McGowan

Alice Bea was one of a kind. She was born July 14, 2009. Her “gotcha day” was September 9, 2009 when she left Henagar, AL to live with her fur-ever family just outside of Birmingham, AL. Alice was funny and sassy with an unconditional love that is beyond human understanding. When she took her puppy class, the teacher said that a fur-baby’s love is the closest tangible representation of God’s unconditional love on this earth. Alice’s family agrees. In her younger years, Alice loved to travel with her family, especially to the beach. As she got older, she much preferred for her family to vacation without her while she stayed home and threw house parties with her favorite person, Kerry Burrell. He was truly her person, her boy, from the moment they met. Alice’s life was full and joyful. She enjoyed her sleep, especially in unusual positions, usually scaring her family by preferring to sleep as close to upside down as possible. She is preceded in death by her Nanny, Bea Heflin and her Aunt, Sherry Bynum in addition to a few other special family members that Alice had the joy of meeting and loving on throughout her life. She is survived by her Mama, Angie McGowan and her Granny, Becky McGowan. She was their whole world and the boss of their house. She is also survived by many, many other family members and friends who truly loved her. After all, to meet Alice Bea was to instantly fall in love with her. This sweet baby went Home to be with Jesus on September 4, 2023 at the age of 14 years old. Her family would like to thank Dr. Hart and the entire staff at Clay-Chalkville Animal Clinic for loving and caring for Alice since she was a baby. They thank, from the bottom of their hearts, Emergency Pet Care in Trussville, especially Katie, Jessica, and Dr. Byrd, who were with them in their darkest moments and helped them to say “see you later” in the most precious, peaceful way possible. And to this funeral home, Family Pet Cremation, thank you for the care you took with Alice Bea to create such a beautiful memorial and help us find closure and bring her home. We love all of you more than words can say. To everyone who has touched our lives, and the life of precious Alice Bea, thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. We send all of our love to you.
