Harley Jane Lilly

Harley Jane Lilly was a most loved "Family Member", not a pet! Harley came to our family after the loss of our 2nd English Bulldog, who was only 7 when she left us. We were blessed with the cutest little bully "brat", that was SO smart, she taught herself how to ride a skateboard as a baby! Her breeder, Mary Grider, from Texas, who raises show quality English Bulldogs, met us in Mississippi with her and two of her siblings. Were we rich, we'd have gone home with 3, but we feel like we had the best of the bunch. She could be a handful at times, and challenged me almost daily, as to who was in charge, needless to say, she was a little hardheaded. Her favorite toy was a hard rubber little black tire, that she carried around and would fall asleep with it in her mouth, propping her head up. She loved empty milk jugs, 5-gallon buckets, chasing bubbles, sitting on the air conditioner vent, shredding boxes, opening presents, and dragging little pumpkins through the house, tearing them apart, leaving a mess for us to clean up. We were looking forward to celebrating her 13th Birthday when she left us. One day we're taking her to the doctor to check on her limp she had developed; that was determined to probably be arthritis, and being told that we had done a good job raising her, that she was in pretty good shape especially for ,her age and breed, the next day, she's not getting up, 3rd day, we're carrying(literally) her back to the doctor and learning that she most likely had a stroke. We were devasted, and were left with, "the quality of life" decision. Just a couple of weeks from her 13th Birthday, and we're bringing her remains home. We're still in shock! Deerfoot Animal Clinic and Doctor Scott Russell, along with Family Pet Cremation & Burial Services were so very supportive during this devasting time in our life, and we are very thankful to both for the love they've shown us. Deerfoot made a pawprint on a sweet poem and sent to us, that we framed, Family Pet Cremation gave our girls remains back to us in a sweet little container, and a paw print in clay, AND, they set this memorial up for our little girl, that has just kept the tears rolling around here. THANK YOU for giving us a vehicle to grieve, and share our precious memories
