Max Moore

Max Moore was born October 30th, 2008 and passed September 10th, 2024 at 11:07am just a month and a half shy of his 16th birthday. Max became a part of our family when he was 8 weeks old. He was the cutest little menace. Puppy Max got into everything...tore up curtains, ate the loveseat arm stuffing, chewed a hole through a mattress. He was a mess, but he was our mess and oh how we loved him. He grew up, settled down, and became the biggest lap dog. His favorite thing was to cuddle and be near his people. He loved to dig in the dirt and when he did his ears flopped up and down in the funniest way. He loved to be outside and when he ran through tall grass or snow he looked like a bunny hopping. It was the funniest thing. He loved to bake himself in the sunlight and roll in the grass. He loved barking at anyone within sight of our house and always watched out the window for his people to come home when we were gone. He loved peanut butter and Chick-fil-A and and begged for a bite of anything we ate. He had the biggest puppy eyes when he begged for food. He slept in our bed from day one and took up half of it even though he was so small. He loved to lick, wanted pets constantly, and was the best doggie we could have ever had. We spoiled him. He was our traveling companion and went on all the trips, he had a collection of at least 30 toys because we bought him one any time we were in a pet store. He was always resilient. He had to have a benign tumor removed from his neck a few years ago and we called him Frankenweenie until he healed because of the stitches. He had back problems and went down in his back a couple of years ago, completely paralyzed in the back legs, but with two weeks of rest he regained feeling and got around as if nothing happened. He always bounced back. He was tough and he was stubborn. But he was getting older and sleeping more lately. Two days before his passing he started having trouble breathing which led us to the vet and to the bad news that he had heart and kidney failure. We were and are devastated, but wanted to make sure he didn't go in pain. We said goodbye to him at home with help from Laps of Love and he fell asleep forever in one of his favorite places surrounded by his favorite people. He was the best boy and made our lives better. We were privileged to be his parents for almost 16 years and will miss him terribly, but we know we will see him again some day. Rest in Peace sweet boy. We love you.
